Animal Friends 2nd Annual 5k & Dog Jog
Event Summary
The 2nd Annual Dog Jog and 5K is a day full of fun for the whole family – including your four-legged friends! All net proceeds benefit the dogs and cats awaiting homes at the Animal Friends Humane Society as well as our crucial programs to support pets and the people who love them. The day’s activities consist of a competitive, chip timed 5K, a leisurely 1.5-mile Dog Jog, Flubs ice cream cones and pup cups free to participants, exciting raffle offerings, and our outdoor marketplace, which includes great vendors, and both Kids’ and Pets’ Fun Zones.
The day begins with a chip-timed 5K run/walk (3.1-mile) for people only, followed by our leisurely 1.5 mile Dog Jog. Don’t want to run/walk? Then come and cheer on the participants. We will have snacks, including FLUBS ICE CREAM cones and pup cups! The Petmobile will be attending if you are looking to bring home a new family member.
5K Registration is $35. Race Day Registration fee is $40.
5k Participants will run or walk our official timed 5K route (3.1 miles) (no pets allowed in the 5K event).
Dog Jog Registration is $25. Race Day Registration fee is $30.
Dog Jog Participants can jog or walk our 1.5 mile route with your dog by your side or consider walking one of our adoptable shelter dogs! The Dog Jog will not be a timed event.

Tribute Signs
This year, we are offering an additional way to help us reach our fundraising goals. Honor your loyal companion by purchasing a 5K and Dog Jog Tribute Sign to celebrate a pet that means the world to you or as a memorial to honor a beloved pet no longer by your side.
Your tribute sign will feature your pet’s name and color picture enlarged on a sign and placed as a mile marker along the race path.
Tribute Signs will be posted online as photos on the Animal Friends Facebook page during the week of our event. From all the Tribute Signs on the Dog Jog route, one pet will be randomly chosen to feature a tribute story on our social media channels.
The winner of the Tribute story will be featured the week following the 5K in the recap.
