Our Mission
Animal Friends Humane Society (AFHS) was established in 1952 and is Butler County’s largest, oldest non-profit animal shelter. Our mission is to promote humane principles, to protect lost, homeless, abandoned and mistreated animals, and to act as advocates for animals in our communities.

Get ready for our 7th Annual ALES FOR TAILS EVENT on Saturday, September 14th, at Municipal Brew Works from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.! This family & dog-friendly event is one you won't want to miss! Socialized dogs who are people-friendly and dog-friendly are welcome at the event! We ask that all dogs be leashed during the entire duration of the event and that retractable leashes are not used.
